AMD Ryzen 9 9950X Processor Price Drop

The AMD Ryzen 9 9950X processor, featuring 16 cores and 32 threads and powered by the "Zen 5" microarchitecture, has had its price reduced on Amazon Prime to $434. This represents a 33% decrease from the chip's original launch MSRP of $649. At this new price point, the 9950X is now approximately $100 cheaper than the Intel Core Ultra 9 285K.

Our testing has shown that the 9950X outperforms the 285K in productivity workloads and performs equally well in 4K Ultra HD gaming. Previously AMD's flagship desktop processor, the 9950X has been succeeded by the Ryzen 9 9950X3D, which is priced at around $700 due to its impressive gaming performance, second only to the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, while still maintaining productivity performance comparable to the 9950X.

The Ryzen 9 9950X features 16 cores and 32 threads, with two 8-core CCDs, each equipped with 32 MB of on-die L3 cache. The processor has a base clock speed of 4.30 GHz, a maximum boost frequency of 5.70 GHz, and a TDP of 170 W.
